Subtitled ‘Time is of the Essence’ and ‘a celebration of the anachronistic’
The play revolves around the ancient but healthy METHUSELAH who resides on a cedar throne. He boasts a dense grey beard streaked with yellow. The beard descends and spreads to the floor, covering his feet. Methuselah entertains a number of females: EVE, the QUEEN OF SHEBA, BRIDGET (a latrine hand and servant), SALOME and CLEOPATRA. He is sexually active in various degrees, but not with the heart-broken CLEOPATRA. All these women appear at the conclusion, and celebrate METHUSELAH’s one thousandeth birthday.
